Lori Cagle started dancing at the age of 12 at a local dance studio and started competing at the age of 15, winning many awards. She has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acro. In 1984, she won the title award of Miss International Sunshine Talent that was held in New York. As part of her training, she has attended many dance conventions with Tremaine Dance Conventions, Jeff Shade, and International Dance Teachers Association, and has performed at various locations in New Jersey and Philadelphia.
She has taught dance in both North Jersey and South Jersey and continued her dance education by attending the summer sessions at Philadelphia University of the Arts. She also had the opportunity of doing choreography for Oakwood Summer Theater's Fiddler on the Roof. In 1995 she opened up her own studio and was in business for 22 years until she retired in 2017. She gave her students many dance opportunities, both competitive and performance. Her dancers have performed on seven different cruise ships and have performed in Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Hershey Park, Six Flags, Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Miss America Parade.
She has also had the opportunity to perform with the group Sanbrooka under the direction of Sammy Reyes and performed at the Philly Fringe Festival. She continued to study, taking hip hop classes in Philadelphia at Koresh Dance Company with Sammy Reyes and in New York at Broadway Dance Center taking street jazz, tap, jazz funk, hip hop, with many professionals such as Derek Mitchell, Germanie Salsberg, Eric Jenkins, Q Pitman, Jamie J, Avi Miller & Ofer Ben, Chio, Ant Boogie, and Bev Brown. She also had the opportunity to perform with Bev Brown and her company at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York in 2014.
She continued with Dance Educators of America in 2006, which is a 3 year summer program to enhance dance education and to improve teaching standards of the Arts. Being a part of passMORE DANCE has kept her love of dance going while she works with children of all ages.
